About the Artist
Harmony Noda grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and spent her childhood semi-homeschooled with her three brothers in a small house without heating or air conditioning. She passed the days by picking wildflowers and experimenting with paints, inks, and charcoals. She took adult calligraphy classes as a child, and was frequently commissioned to pen wedding vows, address invitations, and inscribe Bibles.
Harmony moved to South Carolina for college, where she played softball for Limestone University and studied business and art. She completed graduate degrees at the University of South Carolina, and has dabbled in careers from corporate audit to non-profit social work to most notably physical therapy. Throughout all of this, she has continued to sketch, paint, take photos, and entertain the occasional commission.
Harmony "married into the South" and now has three kids, 100+ chickens, 2 hermit crabs, 4 dogs, and 1 fainting goat. Her artistic style is as varied as her career choices, and she is often inspired by the witty banter of her children or the vibrant colors of spring in the Carolinas.
Harmony primarily works with acrylics, but also creates with oils, inks, watercolors, and charcoals. She frequently photographs local youth sports, and loves capturing unscripted moments under natural light.
